If I live to be 100 or I don’t, I’m going to go forward.” After two years of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, many people would have quietly stepped away from the spotlight. But Toby chose the stage. He performed three sold-out shows in Las Vegas, often too weak to stand for much of the night, yet his voice remained steady and strong. After the final show, he smiled beside his band in a photo and wrote, “Been one hell of a year. Here’s to 2024!” But for Toby, 2024 would last only 36 days. He passed away peacefully on February 5, surrounded by his family. In Oklahoma, flags were lowered in his honor. What remains is that simple, powerful promise — a man facing the end with courage, still choosing to move forward: “I’m going forward.”
