Introduction

AT 93 YEARS OLD, I’VE LIVED A LONG ROAD FULL OF HIGHS, LOWS, HEARTBREAKS, AND BEAUTIFUL MOMENTS
At 93 years old, I’ve traveled a road longer than I ever imagined.
It’s been a journey filled with unforgettable highs, painful lows, heartbreaks, blessings, and more lessons than I could ever put into words. I’ve watched the world change countless times. I’ve seen generations come and go. I’ve said goodbye to dear friends, faced challenges I never expected, and experienced moments of joy that still make me smile when I think about them.
But through it all, one thing has never failed me.
The love from you.
The fans.
When I first picked up a guitar all those years ago, I wasn’t thinking about fame. I wasn’t dreaming about awards or headlines. I simply loved music. I loved the way a song could tell the truth when ordinary words couldn’t. I loved the way a melody could bring people together, even if they came from completely different walks of life.
I never could have imagined where that love would lead.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of standing on stages across the world. I’ve looked out at crowds of thousands and seen smiles, tears, laughter, and memories being made right before my eyes. Every concert became more than a performance.
It became a conversation.
A connection.
A shared moment between people brought together by music.
And for that, I will always be grateful.
There were times when life wasn’t easy. Like everyone else, I’ve faced disappointment, loss, uncertainty, and pain. There were moments when the road felt long and the future felt unclear. Yet somehow, your support was always there.
Your letters.
Your applause.
Your kind words.
Your unwavering loyalty.
You may never fully realize how much that meant.
People often ask me what success looks like after all these years. The truth is, success isn’t measured by record sales, awards, or chart positions. Those things are nice, but they don’t last forever.
What lasts are the people.
The memories.
The friendships built through music.
Knowing that a song helped someone through a difficult day.
Knowing that a lyric made someone feel less alone.
Knowing that the music became part of someone’s life story.
That’s the real reward.
As I look back, I don’t spend much time thinking about achievements. I think about the faces I’ve met. The hands I’ve shaken. The stories fans have shared with me about how a song carried them through hard times or reminded them of someone they loved.
Those moments mean everything.
If I’ve learned anything in 93 years, it’s that life moves faster than we expect. The years pass. The seasons change. None of us can stop time.
But kindness endures.
Love endures.
Music endures.
And the bond between an artist and the people who listen to his songs endures too.
So today, I simply want to say thank you.
Thank you for every ticket.
Every prayer.
Every letter.
Every memory.
Every mile you’ve traveled with me on this incredible journey.
I’ve been blessed beyond measure, and a big part of that blessing has been you.
No matter where the road leads next, know this:
I carry your love with me.
And I will forever be grateful for every moment we’ve shared together.
